And with the return of the show comes the colorful, attractive, drama-inducing cast that we all know and love. Unfortunately one of last season’s fan favorites has moved away from Beverly Hills and won’t be returning to the show—Ethan.
The first episode of season two began where last season’s finale left off. The summer school students are free from the confines of West Beverly, and are taking in the last rays of the summer sun. Meanwhile, tensions between Annie and Noami from prom night are still flaring.
90210 Summary
Annie: Annie is paranoid about her accident at prom, when she hit a stranger with her car and took off. She’s busy scouring the internet for news on the strange man’s fate. Her paranoia has left her in a snappy mood with everyone, particularly her family. When she learns that the man died in the hospital, her guilt overflows. She tries to confide in her brother, Dixon. But when he guesses that her problem has something to do with Naomi’s accusations about Annie sleeping with Naomi’s boyfriend at prom, Annie flips out. She winds up at the end of summer beach party, drinking with a senior and following him into one of the beach cabanas.
Naomi: As usual, Naomi is guy hopping, trying to distract her mind from Liam, her sort-of-boyfriend who she’s certain slept with Annie at prom. She recent got involved with a middle-aged man, who she discovers is married when he arrives at the beach club with his wife and kids. She refocuses her attention on “tennis guy,” a blonde, womanizing tennis player who coincidentally was Adrianna’s childhood boyfriend. Moving on from him, she racks her brain trying to find a decent guy to crush on, that is, until Liam, who she had thought had moved away, shows up at her locker.
Adrianna and Navid: This cute couple has been going strong, recovering from Adrianna’s decision to give her baby up for adoption. Adrianna decides she wants to be “no-drama-Adrianna,” which means no sex, because sex complicates things. Navid, on the other hand, has completely misread Adrianna’s signals, thinking that they’ve waited long enough. He steals the keys to a beach cabana and decorates it with candles and roses to set the mood, and he even creates a sexy mixed CD. But when he asks her if she wants to do it, Adrianna reminds him that she’s not ready. Later on, a woman (coincidentally the wife of Naomi’s middle-aged lover) storms in on the beach party and demands to know who trashed her cabana and left the sex tape. “Tennis guy” stands up and takes the heat, using his father’s celebrity status to calm the woman’s wrath.
Silver and Dixon: This on-again, off-again couple has been acting awkward around each other. Silver is torn between Dixon and Ethan. But when Ethan text messages her to say that he’s not returning to Beverly Hills, the choice is obvious. Dixon and Silver get back together. But later that night, “tennis guy” reveals to Dixon that Silver has been texting Ethan. Enraged, Dixon tells Silver that they’re done for good.
