Lynette "heats it up" with Rick, Susan tells Mike she loves him, Eddie wants custody of Travers, Gabrielle goes to jail . . . all in one episode!
This week’s episode of Desperate Housewives proved to be the steamiest yet! While Lynette and Rick enjoy an intimate dinner after the restaurant closes, two men burst into the pizzeria, lock them both in the freezer and then rob the restaurant. Attempting to stay warm, they cuddle together and fall asleep in each others arms. The next morning Tom realizes that Lynette never came home and in a panic, he searches for Lynette. Searching frantically he runs to the restaurant in hopes to find her. He finds her trapped in the freezer and is shocked to learn that Rick was alone with his wife all night.
The scandal continues as Tom learns how unprofessional Lynette and Rick’s after work dinners really are. As a result, Tom's jealousy consumes him and as a result, he treats Rick out to lunch the next day and demands to know if he’s sleeping with his wife. Although Rick says they’re not having an affair, the glimmer in his eye hints that he wishes they had.
That night, Rick confesses to Lynette about his chat with Tom. Torn between the two men Lynette decides that in order to save her marriage she needs to fire him. At home she tells Tom that Rick gave his notice because he was given a better offer at another restaurant. While Tom is excited to be back at the restaurant, Lynette is very emotional at the loss of Rick.
Meanwhile, Travers’ visit with Edie is up and his father has come to bring him back home. Carlos tells Edie that he’s not going to be in the picture as much while Travers is gone so Edie devises a plan to keep Carlos close by. She decides to file for joint custody in hopes of keeping Carlos committed to their relationship. Realizing what she’s up to, Carlos assures Edie that he will still be there for her while Travers is away and convinces her not to start a custody battle with the child’s father.
As usual, Gabrielle is up to her princess ways. She gets into a fight with a parking authority cop when he calls her a “spoiled bitch” because she refuses to put extra money in her expired meter. She decides to rip up the ticket and when she spots the cop a few days later she acts the part of the spoiled bitch he thinks she is and parks in front of a fire hydrant. Gabrielle triumphantly tells the officer that he can’t do anything about it because she is now the First Lady of Fairview as her fiancé Victor has been re-elected Mayor of Fairview. One thing leads to another and much to Gabrielle’s surprise she ends up in the back of a police car.
While Victor is able to free her from jail and clear the charges, he is not happy with her behaviour. Not letting her explain herself, Victor lectures her on the importance of being professional in public and at important functions. After all, he is the Mayor and needs his leading lady to be mature for once. Feeling bad for her Gabby-like behaviour, she apologizes to him and promises to behave herself. After catching a glimpse of her bruised wrist Victor gets an evil gleam in his eye. Later, the parking authority cop is badly beaten by two unknown men. Coincidence? Not likely!
The relationship drama continues as Susan cons Carlos into admitting where Mike has disappeared to. Learning that he is hiking the hot springs at a local forest, she packs her bags determined to find him as she wants to clear the air between them. Because she is not an experienced hiker, Susan is paired up with a tour guide (Toni) who quickly becomes annoyed with Susan’s self absorbed story of Mike. She tells Susan that she is the problem not Mike, and she is obsessed with drama. With that accusation she turns in for the night but has a rude awaking the next morning when Susan is gone.
Susan decides to look for Mike on her own and of course gets lost, twisting her ankle in the process. As night time falls she leaves Mike a heartfelt voicemail confessing her love for him and apologizes for everything she has put him through.
In the meantime, Mike is packing up to leave the forest when he over hears the park rangers discussing the disappearance of a “klutzy brunette”. Figuring that they're talking about Susan he sets off to find her.
Stumbling upon her the next morning, Susan tells him that she sprained her ankle and can’t walk. He says, “Good. It gives me a chance to do this,” and takes her in his arms a kisses her.
