The entire gang waited in the wings while Derek operated on Izzie on Grey’s Anatomy. On Private Practice Addison dealt with her growing feelings for Noah, while Violet dealt with her feelings of jealousy.
Grey’s Anatomy, “Elevator Love Letter”
Owen had another PTSD episode that caused him to strangle Cristina in the middle of the night. Owen was very apologetic, and Cristina convinced that it was OK because he was asleep.
Derek brought the ring back to Meredith and returned to the hospital to operate on Izzie.
George begged Callie for work because he didn’t want to think about Izzie anymore and was upset she didn’t tell him.
Mark, Lexi and Alex dealt with a family who didn’t seem to care their aunt was about to die. They explain that she has been “about to die” for years, and they are tired of waiting around. The woman did eventually die, and the family decided to sit with her for a while longer.
Cristina tried to stop Dr. Swender from giving Izzie bad news before surgery.
The chief told Alex that Izzie’s harvested eggs have a better chance of surviving if they’re fertilized, and he had no problem taking the cup. He did, however, have a problem using the cup because that isn’t the way he wanted to have a baby with Izzie.
Derek talked to Owen about his PTSD after he heard about Cristina, but Owen told Derek to worry about himself.
Callie tried to help George through his fear, anger and grief.
Everyone gathered in the OR hallway to wait for Izzie’s surgery to be over. After the surgery Alex stood by Izzie’s bedside just so she would know he was there.
At the end of the night Derek surprised Meredith with CT scans from all of their memorable moments. They then agreed to spend the rest of their lives together.
Cristina broke up with Owen, so he had Derek scan his brain.
Private Practice, “Do the Right Thing”
Addison made a house call to Morgan, which Naomi did not think was a good idea. Morgan begged Addison to save the baby so she can save her marriage.
Cooper was outraged to learn that the mother of his 12-year-old patient was allowing her to have sex as long as it was in her house. Later, Cooper learned she was pregnant.
Violet witness Pete flirting with a young patient’s mother and couldn’t help but comment. He asked her out later and told Violet about it, who accepted it.
Sam testified as an expert for a friend, and he crumbled when his character was questioned. He learned that the death in question was because of a mistake made by a colleague, and the colleague asked him to lie on the stand about it. In court Sam explained the mistake and admitted the colleague lied.
Noah felt guilty for not thinking about or feeling things for his wife anymore after she nearly died while waiting to go in to surgery. After surgery Morgan told Addison Noah wouldn’t look at her.
Violet told Charlotte she feels jealous about Pete’s flirting, and Charlotte tells her that people can change. Charlotte shared that she slept with Archer, and Violet became upset.
Addison admitted to Sam that she doesn’t know if she wants to stop what is happening between her and Noah.
Sarah’s mom immediately asked about abortion, but Sarah wanted to keep it. Cooper had to walk out before he exploded.
Addison convinced Noah to stand by his wife during surgery, but then showed up at Addison’s house and the two made out.
