Recaps – Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill

Blair tries out a new outlook on her life. Dan loses his heart. Nate begans the journey to becoming a true Vanderbilt.

This week Gossip Girl and One Tree Hill suffered a breakup when Nate and Vanessa had a falling out and Deb decided Skills would be better off without her.

Gossip Girl, “The Grandfather”

Nate’s cousin invited Nate to a family reunion. At first he refused, but Vanessa and Dan convinced him to go. Nate’s grandfather didn’t know he was coming but was delighted to see him.

Chuck went to Serena wish questions about Blair’s recent wild nights out. Chuck discovered Blair has been spending her nights with Carter. Chuck tried to tell her Carter is bad news, but she wouldn’t listen.

Lily learned that Rufus used to date her art expert. Lily wasn’t upset, just surprised. She did however have them make lists of their exes to squash further embarrassment.

Blair told Serena that she is exhausted from being ‘Blair Waldorf,’ so she is trying something new, which includes stealing sunglasses. Serena believes Carter is part of Blair’s new outlook.

At dinner Lily left out a page of her list after seeing Rufus’ was much shorter. Unfortunately for her, Rufus later found the rest of the list in her purse when he went searching for a delivery tip. Rufus was mad, but he got over it.

Vanessa began to worry about Nate’s future when she learned that Nate’s grandfather tends to push his offspring in the political direction. She told Nate her feelings, and he promised nothing would change.

Serena and Chuck found Blair at Sarah Lawrence’s dean’s home begging for acceptance. The next day they found her offending socialites at Nate’s family reunion. Instead of listening to Chuck’s list of worries Blair tried to seduce him. When he said no she walked away.

Nate’s cousin told Vanessa that he had accepted a summer internship at the mayor’s office. The two of them had plans to travel, so Vanessa is very upset. She tried convincing him that his grandfather is pushing him, but he just sees it as support and belief.

Blair told Nate she feels lost, and Nate decided to take the internship.

Serena urged Chuck to fight for Blair.

Nate took Blair home that night, and he stayed the night. Chuck went to see Blair and found Nate’s jacket.

One Tree Hill, “Searching for a Former Clarity”

Haley went back to school and learned she must apologize. Nathan said he would support Haley if she “took the high road.” Haley eventually decided to stand up for Sam’s story and was fired for it, but Petyon took her on as a producer.

Sam was arrested after covering for Jack when he shoplifted. Sam tried to explain the situation to Brooke, but she refused to listen.

Dan’s heart was taken by a dog after the paramedic carrying it tripped over the owner’s leash. The dog and his owner were in the hospital because the dog had eaten his narcotics.

Julian and Lucas learned that Julian’s father was fired, which means his movie is dead.

Deb broke up with Skills. She told him it was because he deserves to be a father, and she doesn’t want anymore kids.

Jamie asked Dan who killed Keith, and Dan admitted it was him.

Julian told Brooke he was leaving town for good because of the loss of the movie. Later, Sam went to Julian to save him and Brooke. Julian told her he told Brooke he loved her, and she didn’t say it back.

Brooke apologized to Sam and took back her “unfixable” comment. She also brought Jack with her to prove how sorry she was.
