On Desperate Housewives Edie learned she isn't Dave's first family. Also, NBC's new show Kings premiered. The show is about a young soldier whose life is changed forever after he unknowingly saves the life of the king's son.

Desperate Housewives, "The Story of Lucy and Jessie"

Carlos was offered Bradley’s job as president of the company at Bradley’s funeral, and he accepted.

Edie learned that Dave’s previous family died in a car crash.

Susan learned from a student that she is being evaluated soon. Afraid of a bad review Susan invited her boss Jessie over for dinner. Jessie seemed a little more interested in Susan than the food though. The women had too much wine, and Lucy kissed Susan.

Bree found Orson’s stash of stolen objects and confronted him about it. He told her it is thrilling, but when she suggested a therapist he said he would stop. Then she forbade him from going to their friends’ homes. Later Bree secretly returned the items.

Carlos hired an old girlfriend, which Gaby was very upset about until she saw the woman. Gaby was even more surprised when she learned Lucy was as heavy when Carlos dated her.

Lynette turned to Gaby for job help after striking out elsewhere several times, but she refused to talk to Carlos. Her mind changed after she saw Lucy flirt with Carlos, so she begged Lynette to take the job.

Susan told Jessie the kiss meant nothing, and she can only offer her friendship.

Lynette was shocked when she found out why Gaby wanted her working with Carlos, but the two eventually come to an agreement that makes them both happy.

After another stealing incident, Bree took Orson to therapy, where he explained he loves stealing because Bree can’t control it.

Kings, "Goliath"

The premiere episode began with King Silas Benjamin dedicating the new capital at Shiloh in his kingdom, Gilboa.

Flash forward two years to the war with Gath. David Shepherd, a soldier, learned that hostages have been taken. The king’s son is one of them, but the country does not negotiate for hostages. David goes against orders and unknowingly rescues the king’s son, Jack.

At a banquet in his honor King Benjamin told David he could have anything he wanted for saving Jack. David also meets and falls for the king’s daughter, Michelle.

David is promoted to captain, which outrages Jack. Jack begs his parents for help getting out of the accusations that the hostage situation was his fault. His father tells him that he will not be king until he moves away from his wild ways.

Not only is David now a captain, but he is now a military liaison. After his first televised press conference, Gath sends a peace treaty, which King Benjamin happily signs. During the celebration Michelle and David kiss.

William Cross, who funded Shiloh, threatens King Benjamin. He tells him if he doesn’t stay at war for one more year he will pull his money and tell the world about his mistress and their secret son. King Benjamin then goes to see her for comfort.

David finds out about the war and begs the king not to go through with it. He also threatens him not to touch his daughter in public.

Reverend Samuels told the king he knows the ambush was him. The king said that he needed to do it for peace, and Jack wasn’t supposed to be there.

Jack decided to begin working on William’s side.

King Benjamin told David that he could go home now, but David decided to stay and help however he can.
