Recent rumors about a possible exit from Grey's Anatomy star T.R. Knight, the question still stands how creator Shonda Rhimes will find a way to page him off the show.

Reported by E!'s Michael Ausiello, T.R. Knight has been said to be unhappy with his character's lack of storyline and has asked to be released from his contract three years prior to his contractual agreement with ABC.

There comes a time when the viewers must say goodbye to a beloved character. Unfortunately some of you had to sit through a few George O'Malley character assassinations to get there. Let's rehash, shall we? First our puppy-like George was infatuated with lead character Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), and that was all fine and well -- but then he slept with her. Strike one. During his short-lived Vegas-prompted marriage to Dr. Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) George had a drunken foray with blonde bombshell Dr. Izzie Stevens (Katherine Heigl) that resulted in a painful 15 episodic arc of puke-worthy incest for the platonic twosome. Strike Two. George fails his medical boards. Strike three.

One could see why T.R. Knight is unhappy with his character development! George never catches a break. Now that season five is in full throttle with science fiction-like plots Denny Duquette (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) coming back from the dead, and a cast that just seems to be expanding (Melissa George and Kevin McKidd), the limitations are endless for the Knight's solution for a possible exit.

Hypothetical Solutions

New Death Row Patient Escapes

In the episode that airs on January 8th a Death Row patient is revealed in a three episodic-arc. Let's expand our minds for a second. What if this Death Row patient escaped? There could be a lot of bloody carnage, right? Would George O'Malley be a victim? Hey, anything can happen.

George Goes to The Afterlife

In exchange for Izzie Stevens' sanity, Denny goes on into the after life (finally!) with George as his fellow companion. If it happened in Bill & Ted it could really happen to anyone! Weirder things have happened on Grey's.

West Coast Calls for George

With more crossovers already in the works, the possibility of George going over to Private Practice with Kate Walsh seems to be like the logical answer. Doesn't Addison need a roommate that will give her advice on her shaky love life? Sounds like George already has a home!

Spin-off Show!

George will return to his excellent Mathlete skills and teach high school algebra creating yet another spin off for Rhimes. Maybe this will pick up the ratings.

Sound Off - What do you think will happen to George O'Malley?

First of all I along with many others happened to adore Gizzie. I thought they had amazing sexual chemistry. Elevator kiss is a great example of it. Incest? Last I checked, people who are best friends for a year, joke about masturbation and doing each other are not siblings. Those two are not related at all by blood and haven't known each other long enough to be siblings.

Check out incest instead of throwing the word stupidly around.

I quit watching when Gizzie ended as did many people, which might explain why the ratings went DOWN after they ended and before the strike and never went back up again.

Half the fanbase loved Gizzie so don't pretend to speak for everyone.

I think you are a homophobe who just can't accept a gay actor playing a straight romantic character. Notice how you want George to be the PLATONIC friend to all the girls?

I agree with the author - because Izzie and George had a sibling-LIKE vibe for a few seasons, it felt almost incestuous when they got together. It was a weird, forced relationship, thanks to iffy writing.
