The Sons get Deeper into Trouble and Turmoil in S02E03
The third episode of the second season of Sons of Anarchy opens up after a little bit of time has passed since episode 2. Bobby has somewhat recovered from being shot, and we see him singing at a Bah Mitzvah, reprising his role as Elvis, this time for a young Jewish crowd instead of on a stage in Reno. This sets the tone for a sometimes hilarious, albeit interesting set of events.
Bobby the Bookkeeper
Bobby is dragging his feet after just being out of prison and after getting shot in the shoulder by the Mayans. Clay, trying to help him get back into things, tells him to go to Luann's studio and work the books on SAMCRO's new investment. He does, much to the disdain of Luann, which causes some major problems when everyone, Gemma included, goes to help. Gemma and Clay have it out in a violent way, and Tara catches a glimpse of a porn star taking an extreme liking to Jax. After it is all resolved and Luann has calmed down, the Sons depart and Bobby continues working the books. He calls Luann in from shooting and tells her that his dad used to be an accountant for the mob in Reno, and worked long hours, keeping two sets of books. Luann has been skimming from SAMCRO for six years, and taken a whole lot of money. She instantly starts to freak out and promises Bobby that they can take her share and pay it towards the debt and work all of it off, so no one has to know. He tells her that it is a club decision now, nothing he can do. Apparently there is something she can, as she gets close to him and asks him if he has ever seen any of her movies, and if he knew what her specialty was. Climbing on his lap, it appears that she has done enough to avoid the rest of the Club's detection, for now.
Tara and Jax
As previously mentioned, when Jax rolled up to Luann's studio with Tara, she sees a porn star taking a real liking to Jax, as well as talking down to her like she doesn't own him in any way. Tara is obviously bothered, and it gets even worse when she sees Jax giving the porn star a ride to the shop because she was scared. Gemma tells her she can trust Jax, but the one with the problem are the girls who think he isn't taken. Tara says she won't resort to cat fighting, but Gemma says wait and see. At a wrap party that night for the film, Tara shows up and the porn star seemingly rushes her off. Jax sees it and follows Tara to the bathroom to find out what is wrong. She pushes him against the wall and starts to strip him, much to his delight. Later on while they are having sex against the bathroom wall, the porn star walks in and sees it. Tara gives her a huge smile. Cat fight averted.
SAMCRO, LOAN, Darby, and Hale
While running a repo run, Half-Sack and Opie see what looks like one of Darby's guys dealing meth out by the mill. They are about to tune him up when some protection walks up, white guys, with guns. They back off and meet at the club to figure out what to do. They revisit the mill and find a way to pull the dealer aside, and after Tig sets a foot on his balls, he spills what is going on: Darby's guys are cooking meth out on Water Road. SAMCRO reconvenes and makes a club decision to tell Hale about it. If Hale takes down the meth lab, he is still straight, if he doesn't, he is in LOAN's pocket. Meanwhile, Clay tells Unser of the plan and to keep on eye on Hale to see what he does with the information. Hale takes a visit to the lab, confronts Darby, and goes to get in Zobelle's face. By the end of the meeting with Zobelle, Hale is convinced by the businessman and calls up SAMCRO to tell them the house is clean, effectively saying he is in Zobelle's pocket. The Sons blow up the house, and at the crime scene, Unser asks Hale if he had heard anything about a meth lab. Nothing. Unser doesn't even know what is going on anymore.
In the end most of what is going on is wrapped up. Clay apologizes to Gemma for their fight, and she tells him that she is just shaken up and that he needs to give her some time. She lets him go to the wrap party and have some fun with a porn star while she opens up a Bible to cope. Opie is still dealing with his own demons, but promises Jax that he doesn't have a deathwish after blowing the meth lab without using a remote and almost blowing himself up. All that is left for the next episode are new events, the possibility of uncovering Luann's deceit, and whatever LOAN has up their sleeve next to cause problems for SAMCRO.
