With only one episode left, Supernatural fans are wondering just what creator Eric Kripke as in store.

Season four of Supernatural has had its fair share of twists, from the appearance of angels to the most recent revelation that Sam Winchester has been drinking demon blood in order to gain his own set of demon-fighting powers, leading to the brothers parting ways as the apocalypse looms on the horizon.

Clues to the Plot of the Supernatural Season Finale

Previous to the release of the teaser for the "Lucifer Rising" episode, fans scouring the internet may have come upon a few clues that may add up to some spoilers for the finale. SpoilerFix.Com has gathered up the bits of information floating around the internet, and presented the following clue courtesy of The Ausiello Files: "Sam learns in the season finale that ******i** ****** is the ***** **** that has ** ** broken ****** ******* can ***e." A visitor to the SpoilerFix website suggested that this clue could be interpreted as "murdering Lilith is the final seal that has to be broken before Lucifer can rise." Considering the fact the final episode is entitled "Lucifer Rising," the last part seems to be a safe bet, but as Lilith is the one who has been breaking seals (and considering the evidence below), it seems odd that her death would be the final stroke. Then again, creator Eric Kripke loves to throw the audience curveballs like this.

SpoilerFix.Com has also leaked that the last few episodes, as viewers have already seen, can be summed up as "Sam vs Dean." Unfortunately, the site has also leaked that Lucifer will be more of a presence than a physical being, which may leave fans hoping for a big showdown with the devil a bit sour.

The Teaser For The CW's Supernatural Season Four Finale, "Lucifer Rising"

Though only twenty seconds long, the teaser for the season finale gives a lot of clues as to what fans can expect. Firstly, an important location seems to be a church, since the opening shot of the teaser shows us such a location. Dean is shown running through a church, a woman (presumably Lilith, though she is lacking the tell-tale pupil-less eyes) is shows opening a door without touching it, and what appears to be a nun announces that Lilith can break the final seal before Lucifer is released from Hell. This information clashes with the idea that Lilith must be murdered for the seal to be broken, since according to this leaked clip, Lilith is the only one who can break the final seal).

In order to separate Sam and Dean further, the trailer also has Sam proclaiming that he's "changed for good," and his eyes go completely black, the sign of demon possession, and Sam gets shocked by what appears to be the heavenly touch of the angel Castiel. In what may be another twist, Sam is shown flinging his arms out, apparently using his powers at what appears to be the demon Ruby, who has been helping Sam prepare by feeding him her blood.

The Last Word on the Supernatural Season Finale Teaser by Eric Kripke

By adding up the clues, the viewer can get a decent idea of what to expect. The Winchester brothers have aligned themselves with opposing forces, and will likely have a showdown of their own while trying to work together and stop Lilith. Given the images in the teaser and the fact that the season has dealt with the forces of Heaven and Hell, the final showdown will more than likely happen in a church.

In the end, the brothers may come together to fight Lilith, but don't expect a happy ending. The past three seasons have proven thats not the show's style.
