The Closer Returns Good Faith Episode on TNT

The Closer, starring Kyra Sedgwick has returned for the continuation of season four on TNT. The series took a break starting in September, when a dramatic episode ended with the shooting of Detective Sanchez. His life hung in the balance as Chief Deputy Brenda Lee Johnson ordered him to breathe as the helicopter transported them to the hospital.
Good Faith Episode
Good Faith opened as Brenda Lee was trying on wedding dresses with her mother’s help. The episodes always seem better when Brenda Lee’s parents make an appearance and this episode was no different. Her parents were excitedly helping Brenda and Fritz to arrange their upcoming wedding. Brenda Lee was the reluctant bride, the least excited of the group.
She was saved by the cell phone as a new case presented itself. Brenda Lee races away as her bewildered and disappointed parents are left behind wondering if they are wasting time in Los Angeles on the way to their trip on a Hawaiian cruise.
At the police station, the viewer learns that Detective Sanchez has survived the shooting, but is not yet released to active duty. The squad room is much different than it was at the beginning of the series. The squad has meshed into a closely knit team and Brenda Lee has earned the respect of her team of detectives who had at one time resented her
Brenda Lee has the squad sampling wedding cakes as they review the case, a suicide. Normally suicide would not be the homicide team’s venue, but the coroner has found something suspicious about it.
Brenda Lee fluttered around, as usual, with her team, her fiancé and her parents all revolving around her. When her father had a heart attack, she came to realize that she stands to lose something very important. While talking to her father, she has a light bulb moment and solves the case.
This episode seemed to show equal portions of Brenda Lee’s personal life and the case at hand, winding the two together skillfully into a story that is at once dramatic and humorous.
