A face transplant sent Izzie's emotions in to overdrive on Grey's Anatomy. On Private Practice Pete stood by Violet's side during the sonogram.

Grey’s Anatomy, "Stand by Me"

Miranda convinced Callie to go talk to Derek, so the chief would wake up. Callie told him a story about losing a patient, but when Derek asked her how she lives with herself she didn’t have an answer.

Everyone but Cristina, Meredith and George were put on a huge surgery – a face transplant – for a man who was part of a drunk-driving accident years ago.

Cristina was given a solo surgery – a hernia – but she was distracted by trying to help Izzie.

Izzie was thrown off the face transplant after yelling at her interns for making jokes while in with the patient.

When Callie didn’t come back, Miranda told Owen to go. When Owen got there he told Derek and Callie about losing a little boy.

Cristina finally got Izzie an appointment with her specialist, but Izzie refused to go. The two continued to hide it from the group by saying Izzie needed an enema. Izzie told Cristina she didn’t want to tell anyone because she didn’t want to be treated like a medical piece of meat.

There was a hitch in the face transplant when the patient told his post-op friends to go away. He had no real friends, and his online friends had never seen him. Lexie and Mark convinced him to call them back, and Izzie consoled him when he felt bad about it. He made it through the surgery fine.

When Owen didn’t come back, Miranda broke down and asked the chief to go. When he tried to help Derek brought up the fact that he told Meredith about the ring. He got angry and told the chief he destroyed him. The chief told him he would not accept that.

Right before cutting her patient open, Cristina told Alex about Izzie. Afterward Cristina told Izzie she told everyone because she wants her to fight to live.

Derek called Meredith, told her he loved her again and reviewed Izzie’s scans.

Private Practice, "What Women Want"

Naomi decided to sew her wild oats, and she wanted to start with Sam's friend. He told Naomi Bryce was checking her out, so she asked Sam to give him her number, which he never did.

Addison decided to drop Noah’s wife as a patient.

Noah told Addison he has never felt this way about a woman, and he is in love with her. After that Addison decided she couldn't be Morgan's doctor anymore.

Brendan, Cooper’s former patient, learned he was HPV positive and has cancer in his jaw. Lila, his girlfriend blamed herself because she had HPV. Brendan didn't know but wasn't upset.

Katie, Violet's patient, lost her baby but could not deal with it. She insisted that since she could see her she was still alive. When Violet tried to help her deal Katie freaked out.

Dell confided in Naomi that Heather wanted to move away for a job and take Betsy with her. Naomi told him to talk to Heather in person if he wants things to work. When Dell went to talk to her, Heather and Betsy were gone. Later, Dell told the story to Katie, which helped her come to terms.

Charlotte came over to see Cooper, but he wasn't home, so Charlotte and Violet talked. Charlotte helped Violet with her nausea, and the two bonded over Cooper stories and baby talk. Later Cooper found them painting each other’s toenails.

Lila couldn’t deal with Brendan’s condition so she left him.

Pete and Violet learned she’s having a boy.
