Federal Witness Protection Marshall has Complex Personal Life

Actress Mary McCormack, of In Plain Sight, recently discussed the second season of the hit USA Network series along with her character's family troubles and love live.

In Plain Sight has returned to USA Network for its second season. Mary McCormack stars as Mary Shannon, a Federal Witness Protection officer who helps witnesses hide in plain sight in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Recently Christine Nyholm was invited to participate in a conference call question and answer session about the series. In Plain Sight also stars Leslie Ann Warren, Cristian de la Fuente, Nicole Hiltz and Frederick Waller

Christian de la Fuente portrays love interest, Rafael, in an on again – off again, but passionate, romance. At the end of season one, Rafe saved the day by getting rid of $20,000 worth of crystal meth that Mary’s sister, Brandi (Nicole Hiltz), was hiding in a suitcase. Mary did not figure out the Rafe was the hero of the day until the first episode on season two, and the couple reconciled in the steamy shower. In the interview, Mary McCormack revealed that the characters would get engaged again but that she did not know whether the romance would last.

Mary McCormack also revealed that Rafe would be making a career change and that Mary would finally tell Rafe what she does for a living.

"We really enjoy each other. I’m crazy about him. I’m really just crazy about him. He’s a great guy. I mean no one that pretty should be that nice as well and funny and smart. God went to town when he made him. He’s just fantastic."

Mother, JInx (Leslie Ann Warren) Goes AA

A storyline about Mary’s mother, Jinx (Leslie Ann Warren) is being highlighted this season. Jinx was busted for a DUI and in denial about her alcohol problem. In the second episode of season two, Jinx saw a tape of her arrest and realized that she was an alcoholic and asked the judge to send her to rehab. Mary McCormack said the interview that the alcoholism storyline was being treated seriously, not with some of the quirky humor the show often incorporates. McCormack also revealed that when Jinx gets out of rehab she will be “all AA,” complete with slogans.

Mary spoke with enthusiam and affection for Leslie Anne Warren, ho portrays her mother Jinx:

Initially meeting her was fantastic. So like, I was a big, big fan. It was daunting, but thrilling because I just love her work. We both worked with Steven Soderbergh. So, I remember our first conversation was about our mutual love of Steven Soderbergh.....And so, I think from that moment on, we sort of knew we were going to work in a similar enough style that we could get along great and we have. We’re both really lucky actually. I’m crazy about her husband. She loves my husband. It’s all very comfortable. She lives down the street from me.

In Plain Sight Multiple Storylines

McCormack also talked about the combination of storylines in the script. The USA series is about the witness protection program and Mary’s personal life. This approach allows there to be a continuous story line that progresses weekly plus a witness story that is fresh and new every week.

McCormack is the mother of two and said that she especially enjoys a great relationship with actress Leslie Ann Warren, who invites the family to her house.

Mary McCormack was cheerful and gave the impression that she is truly enjoying life and the series, In Plain Sight.
